I’ve been thinking about getting some rock moulds to add detail to my layout, but really wanted to do larger sections, then I stumbled upon this video and a new technique:
Using Plasticine to create custom rock moulds!
I think his technique may be a perfect solution if you need a realistic, rock wall for a small feature on your layout.

The only downside maybe the weight of plaster if you’re planning a large area for cliff faces and/or building a layout with portability in mind.
However, there are lightweight alternatives to Plaster of Paris, I’ll have to investigate them further.
Cant wait to try this technique, looks so easy, it will definitely find a place on my layout.
